First step of younger-look facial procedure, treatment of dark circle

A face without a dark circle for life.

Q. I heard that an eye bag under the eye bag surgery can recur. Is it true?

A. In carrying out eye bag removal in the area under the eye, it is common practice to resect the central portion of the eye bag. Removing a small amount of eye bag may cause a high rate of recurrence. However, Dr. Young Shin Cho removes the central portion as well as the fatty tissues in the medial and lateral aspect, in order to prevent a recurrence. Furthermore, in the event where the area under the eye looks sunken following sufficient fat resection, fat grafting is used to fill such area.
Q. I heard that a dark circle is not easily treated and actually difficult to manage. Is that true?
A. A dark circle is the area of thin skin under the eyes, through which the vasculature is seen through the skin. Thus, fat grafting is largely impossible. Nevertheless, Dr. Cho with born sensibility of her hands may eliminate a dark circle through micro fat grafting underneath the thin skin. Naturally, it is without a doubt high level technique.
A dark circle is a common designation for all symptoms relating to any dark skin appearance under the eyes. Depending on the cause and type of dark circle, different treatment modalities such as eye bag removal, fat grafting under the eye, PRP treatment, and pigment removal may be applicable. Once the cause of dark circle is verified, the method corresponding to such cause is utilized and the treatment modality may often be complex.

Classification by cause of dark circle

Treatment method of dark circle at the Young Clinic
블릿Transconjunctival eye bag removal

AThis is a procedure in which the inner conjunctiva of the eyelid is incised to remove an eye bag. It does not leave any scar and the recovery is fast. It is possible to get back to normal everyday life.
Above all, it has a merit of maintaining a natural looking shape of an eye with a free tarsal roll.
It is important to perform eye bag removal, to not have a recurrence. Dr. Young Shin Cho prevents a recurrence by removing enough fatty cells from the medial, lateral and central side of the eye bag. In an effort to treat a dark eye circle more perfectly, there are many cases where eye bag removal is accompanied by fat grafting or lifting in the periphery of the eye. (Thread lifting, E- laser)

블릿Fat grafting under the eye (dark circle grafting)

For cases without eye bag and vessels that are remarkable, fat grafting under the eye (dark circle) may help.
Owing to the fact that fat grafting under the eye (dark circle grafting) involves the area where the dermis is thin and blood circulation is less, fatty tissues are quite thinly spread and transplanted precisely. It is quite an intricate surgery and bumpy skin may easily be produced. Thus, this surgery has not been largely performed at any clinic.
This is the area where the skill of the hand plays an important part. Dr. Young Shin Cho performs this surgery most frequently at this clinic. It is more effective in stem cell fat grafting.

블릿Eye bag removal & fat grafting under the eye (dark circle fat grafting)

Fat grafting under the eye may eliminate borderline and shadow created by protruding fatty tissues, but it may result in overall sunken area under the eye. For this sunken area, fat grafting under the eye may also be performed. The most effective treatment for dark eye circle is different from that of fat redistribution. With fat redistribution, it is difficult to remove a dark circle completely and requires much dissection, which makes second surgery too difficult in cases of recurrence. This method is not recommended.

블릿PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) PRP skin regeneration

In cases where the dark circle is due to thin skin rather than an eye bag, PRP treatment may help.
It involves injection of platelets collected from a patient’s own blood into the dark circle area. Growth factor derived from platelets and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and others induce production of fiber generation and improve blood circulation, which in turn improves the dark circle under the eye and increase elasticity of the skin. PRP treatment is normally carried out about 2 ~3 times. A tiny bruise may occur on the day of procedure, but it is largely not noticeable and the patient may return to everyday life right away.

블릿Lifting in the periphery of the eye ? TR(Thread Rejuvenation) line and E-laser procedure

TR line utilizes threads that are absorbed and disappears in the skin. Using the TR line, the skin is tightly lifted and the facial line is revived by way of regenerating the dermis layer of the skin. Also, there is the accompanying effect of the skin becoming whitening.
